Edward Delgado-Romero, PhD

Dr. Edward Delgado-Romero is the Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff Services at the Mary Frances Early College of Education of the University of Georgia. He is a Professor in the doctoral counseling psychology program accredited by the American Psychological Association. He is a Licensed Psychologist in Georgia and the founder of a psychological clinic for Spanish speakers in Athens, Ga.
Dr. Delgado-Romero is a founder and past-president of the National Latina/o Psychological Association. He was named a padrino/elder of NLPA and was a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. He won the Elizabeth Hurlock Beckman Award, the UGA Engaged Scholar Award, the Early Career Award for Psychology in the Public Interest from APA) and Distinguished Career Award from NLPA and Division 45. Dr. Delgado-Romero has served on several national and international editorial boards and was an associate editor of the Journal of Latinx Psychology. He has written extensively in the field of counseling psychology and in multicultural psychology, specifically Latinx Psychology.
Dr. Delgado-Romero’s research team, BIEN! is a collaborative effort to fuse research and service. Dr. Delgado-Romero emphasizes the need for psychological research to “give back” to ethnic-minority and immigrant populations. He has mentored 42 PhD students to date.
